Fortinet Update - What's New in Q3 2018
August 8, 2018
Fortinet
Since 6 August 2018, Fortinet has been offering new versions of the popular UTM and Enterprise Bundles.
Previously included in the UTM Bundle were:
- Intrusion Prevention System
- Application Control
- Anti Virus
- Web Filter Service
- Antispam
- FortiCare Support
New in the UTM Bundle
- Mobile Malware Service
Smartphones have also become indispensable in companies. That is why Fortinet also provides the FortiClient for smartphones. With this licence, you can not only manage these devices via the FortiGate, but also add them directly to the Security Fabric. - FortiSandbox Cloud
With this service, which was previously only reserved for the Enterprise Bundle, you can protect your company even better against unknown threats. Unknown or suspicious files are sent to the FortiCloud and analysed in an ISO 27001 certified data centre in Germany. After the analysis, the file is irrevocably deleted and the result is reported to FortiGate. - Virus Outbreak Protection
This service allows you to react to threats before they have been identified. This allows you to block clearly harmful files even before the virus scanner has received an update. - Content Disarm & Reconstruction Service
This allows you to remove active content such as macros and scripts from supposedly harmless Office or PDF documents and make the rest of the file available to the end user in a cleaned state.
New in the Enterprise Bundle
Fortinet has also revised the Enterprise Bundle. Of course, it still contains all the contents of the UTM Bundle.
- Security Rating Service
Enables you to carry out an audit of your company network and identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. You can include both the network and the devices and software used in the analysis. - Industrial Security Service
Especially in the times of Industry 4.0 and the ever-increasing networking of industrial parks, industrial plants have become increasingly popular targets for attack. The software installed on the plants is usually several years old and often has well-documented vulnerabilities that cannot be remedied via an update.
With this service, you can prevent your assets from being attacked by known vulnerabilities and retain full control over your Operational Technology (OT). - FortiCASB
Many businesses today use many services in the cloud. To protect these, Fortinet offers the FortiCASB (Cloud Access Security Broker). This gives you the control and overview to enforce and monitor security policies even in cloud applications.
