E-mail archiving relieves the load on your e-mail server

The storage space on productive email servers is usually higher-value hard disk storage, as a lot of data can be indexed and analysed here within a very short time. Backing up this higher-value storage is also usually more expensive, as the backup is done on faster media.

E-mails and especially file attachments that are not accessed for a longer period of time should therefore always be moved to slower storage media. This relieves the productive infrastructure, keeps backup processes leaner and can thus contribute significantly to cost savings.
