FortiManager - Central management of all Fortinet services
FortiManager is the central interface for all those who have to manage or set up an entire Fortinet infrastructure. The manager can keep an eye on up to no less than 100,000 different devices! This means that the manager can maintain an overview even in the case of installations on the largest corporate scale. As a kind of device manager, it provides access to the rights and configuration options for all devices and can considerably simplify and accelerate the expansion of a Fortinet network - whether it is an extension of an existing network or a set-up in a completely new location. Above all, the Manager is almost indispensable for the system maintenance of Fortinet networks once they have reached a certain size.

The ultimate Fortinet Manager
Networks are constantly evolving in response to current threats, due to business growth or because of new regulatory or business requirements. Most network management products focus on mitigating enterprise-wide threats through Firewall regulation, regular firmware updates and maintaining content security. FortiManager provides the threat mitigation capabilities in this regard, as well as the essential flexibility to evolve with your ever-changing network.
No Touch Deployment with FortiManager
No Touch or Zero Touch Deployment refers to the process of efficient and rapid implementation of network infrastructures. The FortiManager supports such a rapid implementation on site, as the desired configurations can be precisely defined in advance by means of scripting. This programmatic preparation in the manager then enables the on-site technicians to carry out the installation in no time at all.
You only need to connect the newly set up instance of FortiGate to the Internet. FortiGate then automatically downloads the configuration defined and saved in FortiManager from FortiManager. In this way, the implementation can be significantly optimised. The set-up time is shortened dramatically! Processes that may consume many working hours are much quicker. These are the key features of Fortinet FortiManager
As the central point of contact for your FortiGate or Fortinet infrastructure, the FortiManager offers a wealth of central features, which we would like to outline briefly here:
- Firmware management - All units managed in FortiManager are checked for up-to-dateness and firmware updates can be scheduled at the user's discretion.
- Device configurations united in one console - The devices can all be configured in FortiManager and further divided into regional or task-specific workgroups.
- Management and tracking of system configurations - Images of previous system configurations can be saved. This means that they can be quickly restored if circumstances require it or if earlier configurations turn out to be better and you want to return to them.
- Scripting for easier implementation of new configurations on site (see above).
- Traffic Logging - FortiManager allows an accurate overview of the traffic caused or processed by connected devices and thus supports resource management.
