Fortinet - FortiGate 2600F and FortiGate Rugged 60F-3G4G released

After Fortinet recently released the FortiGate Rugged-60F, now comes the FortiGate Rugged-60F-3G4G. With the same connections as the normal Rugged-60F (4xGE TX, Shared Media 2xGE TX/SFP, 1x RJ45 Bypass) and the high throughput rates, it is an attractive firewall for industrial environments. With the integrated LTE modem, it is also suitable for demanding environments where a second Internet connection is required as a failover, or where no wired connection is possible.

Please note that SIM cards and corresponding contracts with mobile phone providers are not included.

The new highlight, however, is the FortiGate 2600F. With throughput rates of up to 198 Gbps* and 55 Gbps* VPN throughput, it is well suited for corporations and data centres.

With 4x 100 GE QSFP28, 16x 25GE SFP28, 16x 10GE RJ45, 2x10 GE SFP+ HA and 2x GE RJ45 management ports, it is versatile and can meet the demands even in environments with high throughput requirements.

The firewall provides security at high throughput rates, even with elephant flows. With the help of the SPUs developed by Fortinet, additional chips can relieve the processor and traffic can be processed even faster in order to achieve the highest possible throughput rates and the lowest possible latencies.

This includes the possibility to use hardware accelerated VXLANs.

We expect both firewalls to be available in the first quarter of 2021.
