Sophos - Quick update: Support for SFOS for v17.0 and v17.1 ends
Sophos
Sophos announced yesterday that they will end support on firmware versions 17.0 and 17.1 for the XG Firewalls on 31 August 2020. This means that any security updates in the future, as well as other services including vendor support, will be discontinued. However, firmware version 17.0 with CC EAL4+ certification will be supported in the future.
Sophos strongly recommends that all XG Firewalls are always updated to the latest firmware to receive the latest security and reliability enhancements. Instructions on how to update can be found at Sophos Wissensdatenbank. Alternatively, it is demonstrated in this Video.
What does this mean for you?
If you already have an XG firewall in operation, you should make sure that your firewall can continue to receive appropriate security updates and the resulting features in the future.
If you would like support in updating the firmware or are even looking for an alternative to your Sophos solution, please feel free to contact us by phone, e-mail or via our contact form.
