Fortinet impresses in the NSS Labs NGFW Report 2018

Fortinet announced this year's results of the Next-Generation Firewall Group Tests by NSS Labs on 17 July. The tested FortiGate 500E achieved 99.31% security effectiveness at the lowest cost of ownership. NSS Labs' testing methodology is constantly being updated to simulate the latest NGFW requirements. This is the fifth consecutive year that Fortinet has received a recommendation from NSS Labs, proving once again that FortiGates offer the right combination of security, performance and quality even under the toughest conditions.

• High SSL checking performance: The FortiGate 500E of the latest firewall generation convinced with a high SSL checking performance in all 32 cipher tests of NSS Labs with minimal performance losses.

• Unparalleled protection against constantly changing threats: The FortiGate 500E was able to block 100% of known attacks and 99.3% of unknown attacks.

• NGFW price/performance ratio: In a direct comparison of the price/performance ratio of all 10 tested providers, the FortiGate 500E achieved an even better result of 6.753 Mbit/s than the 5.200 Mbit/s officially stated by Fortinet.

• Broad coverage for enterprise deployment: Last year, Fortinet was recommended in eight different group tests by NSS Labs, including Network Security, Endpoint Security, Breach Detection and Web Application Firewall.

Fortinet is the best NGFW choice for secure SD-WAN and the cloud

With the adoption of cloud and SaaS applications, encrypted SSL traffic within enterprise networks is increasing significantly. According to NSS Labs, around 75% of on-premises network traffic will be encrypted as early as 2019.
