FortiCare Essential

FortiCare Essentials is the base-level service, which is specifically suited for units that require only a limited amount of support and can accept one business day response time for both critical and non-critical issues. This service is available only for FortiGate models 8x and below and for lower-end FortiWifi units.

FortiCare Elite Services offers extended service level agreements (SLAs) and accelerated problem resolution. This enhanced support offering provides access to a dedicated support team. Ticket handling by a team of technical experts streamlines the solution. Is a support extension for a FortiSwitch 1048D still worthwhile at all?

We advise against a support extension at this point - the simple reason for this is that Fortinet has already set the FortiSwitch 1048D to end-of-sale status. This means that you can only purchase 1-year licence extensions and that the FortiSwitch 1048D is no longer included in new firmware releases.
